Association News - 20_KW19 - Documentation our documentation activities

The year 2020 started with a big announcement on our part: We would like to push our activities in the area of documentation this year - especially around DMXControl 3. You can read about it in our Association news - 20_KW02 - Documentation offensive.

There we had listed his time, where the current tasks are in documentation. Updating images, describe nodes in the Input Assignment and much more. If you take a rough look at the current state of our wiki, you will notice that the points are still valid. But if you look at the articles in detail, you will see that we have not been idle in the last weeks. In the first articles you will now find updated screenshots and the descriptions of the individual menu items including the corresponding icons. Thanks to the help of our guest authors, the gaps in the documentation of the nodes for input assignment are now also much less extensive.

By the way: the multilingualism, which DMXControl 3. 2 brings meanwhile with itself, had also effects on the documentation in the Wiki. You don't need to know the original English terms for each function. You can now enter the exact name of the German user interface and you'll end up in the right article about the GUI.

Nevertheless, we are still far from reaching a point where we can speak of “as good as finished”. It is therefore inevitable that parts of existing articles will be subject to a certain dynamic in the coming months. This means that one or the other text passage will certainly be supplemented, rephrased, moved to another section or even another article or deleted completely. However, it is worthwhile even today to simply enter the term in the Wiki search in case of ambiguity. Frequently asked questions in the forum are also increasingly being answered in the Wiki, which is why more and more often answers include a link to the Wiki. As of May 2020, you will find a lot of information about many functions of DMXControl 3, ordered by the functions as you find them in DMXControl 3 also always directly.
