HI! I was told a while back that there would be an easier way to sync music up with lights in a timeline format? Is there a way I can do this now or will I need to wait for a futue update? Thank you so much!
Is there a way to have a timeline so I can program lights to music

Hi,
you still have to be a little patient, because the timecode player will be released with the next version (v3.3). We don't know yet exactly when the release will be, but we are currently still planning that DMXControl 3.3 will be released later this year.

Perhaps this sounds stupid, but I'm trying hard to make it work. How can I properly let my spots and other lights react to the music coming from my sound system? Is there a basic tutorial of dmxcontrol for that?

Good morning, unfortunately there is no such option in DMXC - not yet. This is the main part of the new DMXC version (3.3) which, according to what I've heard, will not be released until the end of this year. Until then, I can recommend the following way of working. Take any music program (e.g. Audacity) and watch your piece there. Look where you want the effects. Then see what time code this place has. Then program each effect into separate cuelists, making sure these are set to "Realese Cue at End Time". Now you need a main cuelist. In this you set the triggers to timecode and now your timecodes from before come: Create a cue for each cuelist in the maincuelist with the timecode from before as a trigger. Specifically, you go to "Add" in the menu at the top and then to the drop-down menu and go to Special -> Cuelist -> Start. Then you always select your cuelist, enter the timecode and (almost) done. Now we still need the music. Go to the project explorer and there to "Files". Import your file by right-clicking. Then go back to your main cue list and create a new cue for gabz at the beginning: dropdown menu -> special -> audio. In the field that now appears, select your song and "Start". At the end the same again only with "stop". Now you have your light show. I, and the team, know that it is very time-consuming, but the pros do it in a similar way and improvement is in sight. I hope I was able to help you, don't be shy if you have any questions^^

Cri6is Oh, I see, that I've not responded to your question yet. Sorry for that. As Beni200 allready said, the Timecode Player to play music tight lightshows will be released with DMXControl 3.3. However, if you wanted a sound2light control, then there is an option in the current DMXControl 3 version too. There is a plugin called AudioAnalyzer to get the beat of played music which then can be used to control effects in DMXControl 3. So maybe you could tell us, which type of control do you need, a preprogrammed lightshow or a sound2light control?

Hey JP,
As I understood him, he wants to do a light show, so the audioanylizer doesn't help him much. But Cri6is that you have to Tell us, so we can help you.
