There's a special news for Christmas this year: a guest post from our community member Steff about his use of DMXControl 3.2.3 at a wedding, which he was finally able to make up for this summer.

Every year the music and media workshop (MMWS) take place in Haldensleben. Today I would like to give you an update. What has changed? What were the difficulties? What is the MMWS anyway? Have fun reading.

Here is a short report from the last show "Rocket Rhapsody" with the sound collective of the HTW in Berlin, where Frank was significantly involved in the lighting. Once again, the DMXControl group concept has proven itself very well. But we also have to point out a bug with the update button.

Many of you can sing a song about it and even we have experienced it live in the context of one of our livestreams: in terms of availability and stability, the German internet has still not arrived in the 21st century. But what this has to do with DMXControl 3, we have put together in this somewhat different Live@Work.

For many of you DMXControl 2 was the measure of all things for a long time. Due to the discontinuation of DMXControl 2 it was necessary to rethink how to continue. For our user Steff it meant to get familiar with DMXControl 3 and to adapt the previous one. How this developed, he has written together for you.

Frank recently had a gig in Berlin, even if he wasn't on stage himself. It was about the lighting of a classical concert of the Tonkollektiv of the HTW Berlin in the Emmauskirche to Berlin-Kreuzberg. Despite the simple lighting setup, there was a lot of applause for the musicians as well as some important insights. More about this in his short report.

When preparing an event, not everything always has to run smoothly, especially if you are not so experienced at it. Frank had to experience what such stumbling blocks can be at one of his last events. He has collected his experiences for you under the motto “failures, bad luck and mishaps - lessons learned”.

"Let's get ready to rumble!" - there is probably no better sentence, which stands more for the combat sport. At the Phoenix Fight Championship in the Rundsporthalle Baunatal this sentence did not fall, but it was a real highlight for all participants including our club member Stefan. How to experience such an event up close, you can read in this Live@Work edition.

For the first time in three years, a graduation party took place at the Platen-Gymnasium Ansbach this year. The technical support was provided by our community member Johannes. In this Live@Work issue he reviewed the whole project including ups and downs.

After the long pandemic phase without performances, the first concert of the Collegium Musicum Baden-Baden took place recently. One of our members was there and contributed the lighting part.

The pandemic continues and the traditional Christmas services still could not be held in the hitherto known framework. So once again the variant "Gottesdiest under the open sky" came into play. In this Live@Work, we take a closer look at one of the outdoor Christmas services and what challenges the rain posed.

For a long time, many of you couldn't really get the equipment out the door from the ancestral storage space. For alternative projects, however, this is not necessary at all.

Today we have a guest article in our Live@Work series by our user millemedium. He has designed a youth service in the Protestant church in Mittenwald with a group of young people and programmed several light shows in DMXControl 3.

With regard to our YouTube channel, April was dominated by the live tutorial "Clubshow with DMXControl 3", which Stefan produced for you for the video series "Let's build a Project! Today we take another look behind the scenes of this project.

We look back five years to the year 2015 - in a very special way: namely with a lighting mashup.

In Sachen-Anhalt, the corona case numbers were still quite relaxed in mid-October. For this reason we did not cancel our annual "Musik- und Medienworkshop". Of course in a much smaller form and without spectators. Read in this report more about the project and what tally lights have to do with DMXControl.

Since January 13th, 2012, DMXControl 2 was working every week at the club York in Kassel. But at November, 9th 2019 it was needed to say good bye. The reason was a exciting one: the light equipment should get a little upgrade.
