DMXControl Convention 2026 - Special No. 4 - Way back home
Yesterday afternoon, small groups were still hard at work brainstorming, which actually helped improve the room’s atmosphere a little. By evening, the barn had reached a comfortable temperature. So after a good dinner, nothing stood in the way of watching the Eurovision Song Contest together. Thanks to the big screen and appropriate lighting equipment, this turned into a truly multidimensional experience for the first time in a long while.
In that sense, the last day was entirely marked by departure. After a quick breakfast, the first ones set off shortly thereafter. After all, they had to cross the country. With one exception, the return trip went smoothly, so that most people arrived home at a “reasonable” hour. For Stefan, who actually only had to go to Braunschweig, the return trip turned into a minor to moderate disaster. A freight train ahead that had been involved in an accident caused a long unscheduled stop and ultimately a detour. Estimated arrival time: at least two hours later than planned.
But everyone agrees once again: it was a truly great gathering at a cool new venue in a completely new region. Once again, there wasn’t enough time for all the things on the rough general agenda—or on our personal to-do lists. Fortunately, the next meeting isn’t that far off, especially when you consider how quickly time has flown since our 2025 gathering. Where will we end up in 2027? We’ll reveal that in due time. But initial ideas are already on the table. Until then, we’d like to thank this year’s host, Sebastian, for letting us take over his private estate for the past four days.
