  • Hi,

unfortunately, there is currently no way to send a direct timecode signal to DMXControl 3. So the internal timers of DMXControl 3 e.g. of the Timecode Player can not directly be influenced by an external timecode source. However, there are multiple ways you can trigger something in DMXControl 3 from an external source. DMXControl 3 has inputs e.g. for MIDI, DMX / ArtNet / sACN and via plugins MQTT, Modbus and OS2L. So the way to go would be to select one of the inputs which are supported by your triggering software. Then send corresponding trigger signals to DMXControl 3 and route those trigger signals in the input assignment. E.g. you could send a reset signal with which you reset a cuelist / timecode show in DMXControl 3 and then a trigger signal to either start the timecode show (potentially run out of sync) or a trigger signal for every cue you want to trigger and route this signal in the Input Assignment to the GO of the cuelist.

I know, this is more work to do and not an ideal situation. But this is currently the way to go.

  • We did a YouTube video about the MIDI controls in DMXControl 3 not that long ago:

    External Content www.youtube.com
Content embedded from external sources will not be displayed without your consent.
Through the activation of external content, you agree that personal data may be transferred to third party platforms. We have provided more information on this in our privacy policy.

Unfortunately, this video is in German. But I now tested the automatic English translation and it is okish and I would say close enough to that what we say. Only if there are certain special words like MIDI, DMXControl or so, the automatic translation is wrong. But I would say, it should be possible with it to get the main tasks to do. So starting around 40min in the video we explain the MIDI configuration and starting around 59min in the video we explain how to connect everything in the input assignment.

I hope, these information in the video help you to setup everything. However, if you have more specific questions on how to do something, just ask here and then we can explain that :)
