  • Hallo,

I've created a few looping cuelists to fade between two colors. I have two follow cues each with a fade time of 5s. The light type is the default RGBW that DMXC3 has. I see an occasional fast flicker during when the cuelists run and I'm not sure if there is a setting that is causing this. My basic cuelist settings are attached. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.

    Cheers!

  • Hi,

is this flicker in DMXControl itself or on your device. If the later one, which device is it and what DMX-interface do you have?

  • Hi JP,

The flicker is on the device, I don't see any glitches in the software itself. I have a Chauvet DJ DMX-AN2 ArtNet DMX Node (DMX-AN2). The lights are generic RGBW LED panel lights. They seem to do the same type of flickering when they're set to full white (1;1;1) but I'm not sure if that is the issue or a setting I have.

    Cheers!

  • Hi,

sorry for my late response. Can you test you setup with another DMX interface or with some other devices? I ask, because there are multiple types of issues, which can lead to this issue. I had similar issues only with conventional fixtures, which sometimes flickered. The issue in this special case was that my DMX interface sent a "to fast" DMX signal with to tight timings (those timings were as defined in the DMX specification). However, the dimmer was not well designed and sometimes had problems to read the DMX signal. It misinterpreted the signal and flicker for a short time until it was synchronized again with the DMX signal. I fixed it by changing the DMX timings in my DMX interface to slightly of specific values, so the DMX signal refresh rate was a little bit lower and the Dimmer had more time to interpret the DMX signal. However, only a few DMX interfaces does support this feature and I don't know, if your DMX interface does. And there is no guarantee, that such an interface solves your issues. But a test with other devices and / or DMX interfaces would show you, if it is a general DMX interface issue or only an issue of your led panels.
