A few weeks ago, we gave you a sneak peek on the new features and optimizations that will be included in DMXControl 3.3.1. We also announced that the release of DMXControl 3.3.1 would not be too far off. This prediction has now become a reality: the final version of DMXControl 3.3.1 is available for download starting today.
If you haven't been following our livestream, you can look forward to the following highlights:
- Revised “Random Value” effect with support for parameter and color master and additional options for the type of fade
- Extended functions for audio cues, such as a preview function in the Sound Selector or the ability to set the volume of running sound files
- Timecode shows and macros can now also be addressed from a cuelist via special cue
- There is a new executor type: the Cuelist Group Executor. This allows you to control the cuelists in a cuelist group even better than before
In addition to these highlights, there are also the following improvements and optimizations
- If DMXControl 3 is run entirely on the same PC, the program components now connect automatically via a local direct connection, which makes the connection more reliable, especially in changing environments
- The Eurolite USB-DMX512-PRO Interface MK2 works again without any problems with DMXControl 3.3.1
FS#5477 : eurolite USB-DMX512-PRO INTERFACE MK2 - The Audio Analyzer now also supports ASIO sound cards.
- If you use Macro Board Profiles to assign a Stream Deck, this now also works if the GUI is not running on the same PC as the kernel
FS#5485 : Stream Deck unter Verwendung von Macro Board Profilen via Netzwerk am Rechner mit der GUI - If several devices and/or device groups were selected in Stage View and different values for functions were applied to them together, this lighting scene was always saved completely in a cue, even if certain functions had been deselected in the Programmer Filter beforehand
FS#5479 : ProgrammerFilter Auswahl hat keinen Effekt bei temporären Gruppen - With the new Item List Node, color lists, gobo lists, and position lists can now also be reused in a connection set in the Input Assignment.
- There are additional inputs and outputs for the Timer Node
FS#5454 : Anpassungen Timer Node - The All Sound File Node has been given an additional output for listing all audio files contained in the project
FS#5432 : "All Soundfiles" Node mit Ausgang "All available Sounds" ausstatten - The list of interfaces is now sorted according to specific criteria
FS#4829 : Interface-Einträge können nicht sortiert werden - You can now also specify the voltage for the circuits in load management
FS#5456 : Electricity - Änderungen von Spannung / Strom wird im Input Assginment nicht aktualisiert - The documentation for DMXControl 3 can be opened directly from the software
FS#5421 : Link auf DMXC-Wiki in DMXC-Hilfe-Menü unterbringen
One new feature that we were unable to show you in the livestream concerns the sorting of devices within a device group and the sorting of cuelists in a cuelist group. In particular, the sorting of devices in a device group was previously done directly in the Project Explorer. We have now moved this to a dialog box with additional sorting options. Not only did we want to make sorting more flexible overall, but with the new dialog box we are also eliminating an inconsistency in the Project Explorer. While sorting by name, DMX address, etc. in the directories for cue lists, devices, or stage view was only for overview purposes, sorting in the various device groups actually had a functional impact on the project—namely, how a fanning or effect for a device group is ultimately calculated and output. Now, with DMXControl 3.3.1, the Project Explorer only takes care of the display, while the new dialog takes over the task of functional sorting. Incidentally, the dialog opens by double-clicking on the respective device group or cue list group, or you can use the corresponding entry.
You may be wondering why we mentioned Cuelist Groups in the previous section, since the order of the Cuelists in the Cuelist Group has not been relevant up to this point. This is now changing, because the order is required for the Cuelist Group Executor. This executor can also start individual Cuelists in the Cuelist Group. This can be done in a specific order (which is why the order is required) or randomly. This means you can now control many Cuelists with very few executors.
You can read about other changes on the DMXControl website or in the bug tracker.
