  • Hi,
we're just working on this problem. As you have seen,
    it's not a simple problem. ;)

There is also a first solution for RGBA implemented in
DMXControl 3, just look under Generic RGBA DDF.

It's just a first solution, it's not working at 100%

    Regards Uwe

    P.S.

  • "Oh I see this is hard to calculate..

How does other software handle RGBA RGBW?

    I will look. "

PC_DIMMER takes a pre-set color-temperature of the Amber-Channel and calculates the Amber-Intensity out of the RGB-Values. This is working great and is working for all types of RGBA lamps.

RGBW is not so easy, because the White channel is not linked to the RGB directly, because it is just a kind of brightness-channel.

    kind regards

  • So, it dawned on me today that back in the good old Commodore days (anyone have one of those?) they had the C= 128 with 80 columns. That's right! 80 Columns man!

Anyway, the color signal it put out was RGBI ... I = Intensity. Certain model monitors accepted this Intensity signal and would lower color levels to make better colors. For example, Brown. RGB would make it dark Yellow. Monitors that accepted the Intensity signal would pull down the green level so that dark Yellow visually becomes Dark Brown.

    Here is a wiki link - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_Gra…an_RGBI_monitor

    Maybe that can help?? lol

  • Then again, maybe it is not related. I was thinking Intensity could be White, but I have not played around much with RGBW fixtures.

I'd say you guys got RGBY working well.
