  • Hi,
if nothing goes wrong, we will relase the DMXC 3.0 at the end of year.

Did you try the beta 4 version of DMXC 3?

If not just make a try. ;)

You can download it in this thread first post at the bottom.

There is also a tutorial in the english wiki,
the whole manual will take some time. There isn't also an german manual.

    Regards

  • ok

I just upgraded my web computer to windows 8 so I will install & try it! :)

Needs some upgrades like Net,,,,frame,,, downloading now

    Thanks for the link

I just looked at the Manual early after I started this thread

A couple things bother me? I know the Manual not done yet

Importing will be is my biggest concern

    1) Importing Chaser (did not see in manual)

    2) Importing the command control Buttons, (Also did not see it in the Manual)

these concerns might be answered a soon as I look at the Program! I will find out if I'm 8) :S ?( :D LOL!

  • The current download is the Beta version,
you don't shall it use for normal working. ;)

Ther is no compatibility between DMXC 2.xx und DMXC3.x,
this means you will never van export cues or chasers from
DMXC 2.xx and import it in DMXC 3.x or reverse.

DMXC 3.x has a new concept of saving cues, its named
HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) see wiki link in my last post.

By installing the programm will ask you for downloading netframework.

Also DMXC3.0 has not the complete function of DMXC 2.12,
but there are functions which won't be in DMXC2.xx

    Thanks

    1) So If I start setting up the Beta version ,,,,,, I will not loose any of that work? when the Final version comes out or should I wait,,, it Looks like it would take a lot of set up & programming before I even could use it

    2) so I can have both programs loaded on my Laptop Computer w no conflict between the two? & both programs will not overlap any system files, directories & any thing else, Etc.... & so one program will not effect the other one?

    Good Luck

It might be that small details can change to final version, but as far as I know the project files should be compatible, as it has been through all the alpha and beta versions since.

I hope it doesn't take more time for programming - otherwise the developers would have done something very wrong ^^
With DMXControl 2 it took long time to programm effects or other stuff. With DMXControl 3 I can setup you a colour fade with five LED PARs in just a minute - including adding the devices to DMXControl configuration. Oh, you have ten devices? It doesn't take more time ;)

    2) so I can have both programs loaded on my Laptop Computer w no conflict between the two? & both programs will not overlap any system files, directories & any thing else, Etc.... & so one program will not effect the other one?

Yes right, they both don't conflict.
The only case where they conflict is when they both use Art-Net. On Windows XP and 7 DMXControl 2 has to be started first, for Win 8 there seems to be no solution until now: http://www.dmxcontrol.de/wiki/Lektion_24_Tut3

  • Thanks

all the information so far is a great starting point from the ground up!

I will have more questions later it might be to early to ask them now I will be looking into it when I have time (Its like a new album it takes time to see if you like it or not Lol) ;)

but I did not see a screen w Buttons Control? does it exist or how is it replaced? & is their a pull down menu for keyboard control? Right or Wrong - I'm looking at the new software from the point of view of Dmxcontrol 2

    Thanks

    Steve

  • Hi,

you mean the command box in DMXC2?
The command box in DMXC2 is in DMXC3 the plugin softpult.

But the functionality of the softpult dosen't approached at
the moment the command box of DMXC2.
