Thanks for this reply. But it's not an hardware "abrupt change", it's managed by DMXControl MIDI implementation: when I enable a page (Input assignment) every MIDI values are sent, not by hardware controller but internally in DMXControl. It's not a fault but it could be interesting to have choice on this behavior.

Dear users,
first, I wish you the best for this end of year and next year and thanks to the devteam, it's so great to use this software.
My request today is to implement "pages" for my MIDI controller. It's an Akai APCmini and I would like to use faders (9 faders) for multiple controls. My story is:
- the first (virtual) page allow me to control some settings (by the programmer) such as intensity, strobe, RGB colors, ... with faders
- and on another (virtual) page I have prism, gobos, rotation, ...
- to switch from a page to another, I'm using buttons that enable and disable banks,
- so I have a bank for page 1 faders and switch to page 2 button
- and another band for page 2 faders and switch to page 1 button
But "physically", of course, I only have 9 faders, not 18 faders. When I'm switching from bank/page 1 to bank/page 2, all current faders values are defined and sent to the corresponding programme setting. My wish is that when I activate a bank, MIDI values are sent only if I move faders.
But perhaps there's another way to implement my story ?
Thanks

I think that timecode is available in DMXC2 but not in version 3.
On my side, I'm using Cubase and to sync lights I'm sending MIDI notes to DMXC.
Another way to sync is the O2SL protocol that is available with DMXC3 plugin (you will need to check it during setup). O2SL send the beat signal and it can be linked to SpeedMaster. It sends position too and can help to trigger events when needed.
- With Cubase I'm sending a MIDI note to trigger the start of the Timecode show module
- With VirtualDJ for live performance I'm using the O2SL to get the beat signal
-
Dear, many ways to trigger with DMXC3:
- get signal from external MIDI: you can add virtual MIDI device (created by this tool for example: loopMIDI | Tobias Erichsen) and trigger cue when note on received for example,
- get beat signal with O2SL plugin
- use the timecode player: timecode player can be started by a MIDI signal in order to sync multiple softwares
Which software would you like to use to trigger DMXC3 cues ?

Hello again about encoders ... I'm back about it with (RC3 release).
I'm trying to set an X-Touch MINI from Behringer in Mackie Control mode: encoders send the MIDI value from 1 to 6 for increment and from 65 to 71 for decrease.
My issue is that, for example, with clockwise increment, only the value 1 is understood/captured. Explanation:
- I move slowly my encoder: the value 1 is sent, it works, the encoder value increment is applied,
- I move more quickly my encoder: the value 2 (or 3 or 4, ... depending "force") is sent but not captured by DMXControl because it's only waiting for the value 1 or 65.
Is there a way to manage such encoder mapping ? The issue is that when I move quickly the encoder, nothing happens.
Thanks

Hello, on my side, I'm using Laserworld DS-1000 MK4 with MadMapper/MadLaser but I made a DDF file for it, I share it, perhaps it will help.

The fun fact is that I switched from my USB Enttec to Artnet node due to previous releases issue and now ...

Ok, many thanks. I'm back to RC3 and will wait for an update.
-
I made a fresh install and if I follow those steps:
- install fresh DMXC3RC4,
- run,
- create an empty project,
- exiting,
- run => it's ok
- add Artistic Art-Net interface,
- exit,
- run
Kernel is stucked at this step:

Dear,
I've just installed the last RC4 and I'm facing this in logs when adding Art-Net DMX Interface:
Code17:19:13 FATAL MainProcessRunable - Main Runnable seams stuck in an endless loop! You might have to restart DMXC... Please report this!
The same device DDF and project with RC3 works (I'm using env var to quickly switch) but I cannot have Art-Net working with RC4.
Thanks

Hi Zygis, link seems to be broken, perhaps another one ? Thanks
Take a look at this: Midi Clock to Beat + Noten Duplizieren
Thanks, I had a look to this post but the software is too old to be installed now. But I found an alternative: midiclock.com - midi software for musicians and technicians

Hi,
I have made a tool for converting MIDI Clock messages to MIDI notes. Usefull when you have some device outputing only MIDI Clock messages and you whant to sync it with DMXControl (map to Beat tool "tap button"). Link [EDIT: link updated]: MidiCtoB.zipFeel free to comment.
BR,
ZygisHi Zygis, link seems to be broken, perhaps another one ? Thanks

Many thanks, it's a good news to have this plugin in standard release.

Dear, I would like to test OS2L plugin for DMXC3 but I only have source code (GitHub - DMXControl/OS2L-dmxc3-Plugin) but cannot compile without "sdk". Is there some official release of this plugin ? or any way to obtain SDK ?
Thanks

Wow, many thanks for your answers. I'm pretty sure that the "he is biased" is the good analysis for the theater technician ! I will try to talk to him with all your feedbacks.
-
I finally switched to a Chauvet Art-Net to DMX node. Unfortunately, the theater technician did not gave me DMX mapping as soon as necessary and we will use Light Commander MA console ...
The theater technician said that my system was a "bad quality" system (initially Enttec USB DMX and now Chauvet Art-Net node) but never tell me what was considered as a professional one !
Does it mean all systems based on PC and DMX interfaces are bad ? What could be a "good" system ? Or is it only a bad thinking of theater technician ?!
-
I tried to "force" DMX Interface directly in DMXInterfaceMgmtConfig.xml file and obtain the following log error in Kernel:
Code20:16:38 ERROR AbstractDMXInterfaceManager - Error loading interface Enttec#02396007: Factory does not know this interface. Please check it is connected and working properly.
So it's not only an automatic search issue, even by forcing, same result.
I finally installed another software to create the link between DMXControl and my DMX USB: QLC+. DMXControl send by ArtNet and QLC+ make passthrough to Enttec ! Not sure that it's the best way but it does not require another computer and itomorrow is not the show date, tomorrow is "just" the last rehearsal. Show date is April, the 6th. I should receive an ArtNet to DMX box since the day ...
Many thanks for your help and don't hesitate if I can perfom some tests about Enttec DMX USB Pro.
-
Hello...
we know already about that problem, that the Enttec USB Pro is not working currently with DMXControl 3.3.0. We have also a ticket in our bugtracker for it:
FS#5259 : Enttec USB Pro DMX Interface wird nicht erkannt.Unfortunately I just can ask you if you are maybe able to add the logfiles to that ticket to help to fix it for the final release. But a quick fix until tomorrow won't be possible - especially without having any detailed logfiles to follow up, where the problem is.
Maybe you can organise shortly a Art-Net oder sACN-Interface? I used Art-Net just last evening successfully in a bigger event.
Best regards - and sorry, that I can't provide any good news at the moment... Stefan.
Not sure that log could help, it's attached to this post. EntTec plugin seems to be initialized ...
-
Hmmm ok, this is bad news. I don't know, if we have a final solution until tomorrow. BUT: Try the following as some kind of hack: Send Art-Net-Signals with DMXControl 3.3.0 to a second computer with DMXControl 3.2.3. There, just map DMX-In to DMX-Out with the direct mapping. You can find it in the settings of DMXControl 3.2.3 under "Current Project Settings" => DMX-In => DMX-Out. In addition, configure Art-Net as input in DMXControl 3.2.3 and your interface as output.
I hope, this will help you for the short term. For the long term, I wrote to the other developers internally so we will take a look, why this is not working.
Ok thanks, why not, it could save the deal ...
