  • Hi all,

Could anyone assist me in how I go about implementing the Blackout Button, that is currently implemented in the latest WiKi update, into the DDF's I have written for my Winner II and Dynamo's?

I implemented a Blackout button for each fixture in the DDF now I wish to activate this Blackout Button when I click the Blackout Button in the Main Control window.

In my DDF's the shutter channel is made zero when Blackout is enabled, all other channels remain the same.

Is there some undocumented XML code that will sort this out?

  • Hi!

The blackout function is completely handled by DMXC. On clicking the Button, DMXC will set all channels defined as type="dimmer" to zero and freeze that channels. Upon deactivation, those channels are restored to their new value.

That only dimmer-channels are affected by blackout is by design - on a blackout you typically want to get the stage dark and not the colorscrollers noise while scrolling to zero...

If you want to set all channels t zero, you will have to save a scene with that setting an call it for example via the command box.

    Regards,
    Stefan
