has anyone ever used this software with an external Midi Controll Surface such as this one.

My thought is that if this would work well with the software (providing REAL Fader controll / movement of the software faders) then it would make for a REALY nice lighting controll package..
please someone give me some feedback on this idea...
and any info on other controllers would be good also (would love like 12 faders to something)

Yes, DMXControl already supports external MIDI control. Please have a look at this document:

Currently, DMXC sends only a few MIDI(-Out) messages, so probably motorized faders won't move when you change values in DMXControl.
I personally use a homebuilt MIDI-Controller: MIDIBox (http://www.midibox.org)

i use DMXControl with this device:

and it works fine. You patch each fader on every fader of DMXControl like you want.
I also use an USB - Midi Hub in order to connect two Midi-Devices: the Behringer lighting console and a normal Midi Keyboard.
So I think it would be no problem to use these faderunit with DMXControl. It's an nice feature to control by real faders ;-).
