Textbook looks like a useful cue list but I think I must have misunderstood some issues. Can anyone help?

It seems that you can only add scenes if the rtf file has been opened and not yet saved but you can alter comments and fade times. Is this correct?

I've tried to add scenes but end up with duplicate row numbers and a red diamond beside the duplicates. How do I resolve this?

And is it possible to move scenes up and down (as in Scene List)? I don't like Scene List much because it is too easy to click the wrong button!

And what does Delta-T mean? Sounds like a delay but nothing seems to happen when I set one and run through the cues.

    Hooray - a solution.

The problem is that OPENDMXDLL.DLL calls a specific realease of the C++ runtime libraries but my PC contained an earlier version. Ideally the versions used for development should be distributed within the setup program otherwise these problems can happen easily.

Anyway, downloading Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/d…&displaylang=en and installing it did the trick!

I have now installed DMXC on 5 PCs. Three of them are OK. Two give the Error48 mentioned in the previous posts. Unfortunately at least one of these two must work.

I have run Dependancy Walker on a good and bad PC. There are errors in both of them but I think the crucial difference is that OPENDMXDLL.dll calls MSVCR90.dll. MSVCR90.dll is not available in the PCs that fail.

On the good PCs, MSVCR90.dll is in
    C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.VC90.CRT_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.21022.8_x-ww_d08d0375.
It seems that it is part of C++ runtime libraries. Copying the folder and contents does not work. Running regsvr32 on the DLL gives runtime error R6034 - An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

    Can anyone help please?

Thank you for your suggestion Stefan. I tried copying OpenDMXDLL.dll to C:\windows\system32 but there was no change in the error. It says:

Ein Fehler trat beim Initialseren des Plugins 'Entec OpenDMX USB/JMS USB2DMX/nvent Open Core USB' auf
Fehler 48: File Not Found: OpenDMXDLL.dll
    Erneut Versuchen?

The equivalent also occurs when set to English. Because the file is there (in two locations now!), I guess the error message must be misleading and actually some other system component is missing. Is there some kind of debug I could run?

    Steve

    Me Too!

I can make the system work on another machine but unfortunately not the one in the theatre. I cannot see any difference in setup or operating system between them.

We are new to DMX and this problem means we cannot use DMXC - which otherwise seems to be an excellent product. I would be very grateful for help:

    Deutsch (vielleicht)
    Ich also!

    Open Thanks anyway.

Actually the hardware doesn't matter. The error message is produced before the hardware is accessed - I know this because I keep transferring the USB-DMX box between PCs.

You are right about the 'extra information' message. I tried copying it directly from the unzipped package and there was no message (but the problem remains!)

It is one of the outputfiles that Stefan posted on his first message in Neues Ausgabeplugin für Enttec OpenDMX und Klone that is causing the problem so I have emailed him in the hope of some guidance.

The installation paths on both PCs are the same, i.e. the default c:\program files\DMXControl

Thank you for your response - sorry for the reply in answering, I haven't got the hang of these forums yet.

Both PCs are using Windows XP. The test PC (this one!) is connected to the internet and is fully up to date with patches. The target PC in the theatre will not be quite so up to date because it is not connected to the internet. All files have to be loaded via disc or memory stick.

I noticed that by accident, the test PC was running DMXC V2.10.0 but the target PC was running V2.10.2. I updated the target PC to V2.10.6 but the problem remained. I then uninstalled DMXC from the target PC and reinstalled V2.10.0 like the test PC. When I copied the plugin files I got this message:
    ===========
OpenDMXdll.dll has extra information attached to it that might be lost if you continue copying. The contents of the file will not be affected. Information that might be lost includes:l

    Document Summary info
    ===========

Of course, I continued copying - there's no obvious alternative - but the original error message remains.

    Any ideas?

    Regards
    Steve

We are trying to use a Virtua Via USB/DMX box.

I put your new software into the main DMCX folder in my home PC and signals were seen by the box.

I put the same software into the theatre PC and got a message "Error 48: file not found OpenDMXDLL.dll", even though this file is present.

I tried moving the files to the plugin directory but get various other errors which I guess is because they shouldn't be there.

    What can be the problem?
