  • Hi,

I am putting together a project for an event I am planning in a few months. I would like to know how do i setup a BLACK OUT button or function.

I have tried making a BLACK OUT feature in the effects window, but the problem i have is i have to stop the other effects that are running, before the BLACK OUT effect works or the shutter channel of my scanners pulse every time the effect resets to step 1.

Can any one help ? i can email the project and fixture files.

Many Thanks for an awesome user friendly application.

  • Hi Paul!

The Current Alpha Version already has a BLACK OUT- Button. Good Hope for the next Version..

In DMXC 2.8 you can create a new Effect containing the orders to stop the other Effects.

    It will look like this:

1.) Be shure, you enabled "Highes takes precedence-Mischung deaktivieren" in your configuration.
    (Konfiguration -> Programmkonfiguration)
Otherwise this tip will not work..

2.) create a new blackout scene in "Szenenliste".
Be shure, all Lamps are off, before you add it.
Enable all Lamps of your spots and Moving Ligths, but no moving controls (Pan, Tilt, ...)
    Save the new scene.

3.) add a new effect ("Effekt").
The Button "Wiederholen" is pressed. Click it, so it will be depressed. That means, the effect will run only one time without a loop.

4.) add a new step ("Schritt")
5.) select in the drop down menu "Befehl"
6.) select "Effekte" in the first field "Modul"
7.) select your first effect in the field "Gerät/Funktion"
8.) select "Stop" in the field "Kanal" and click "OK"

Do as 4-8 for each of your effects

9.) add a new step ("Schritt")
5.) select in the drop down menu "Befehl"
6.) select "Szenenbibl." in the first field "Modul"
7.) select your Blackout-Scene in the field "Gerät/Funktion"
8.) leave "auswählen" in the field "Kanal" and click "OK"

Now, when you start this effect, it will stop all others and the blackout - scene will be played.

You can start the Black Out in the "Kommandobox" or with a shortcut from the "Tastaturkontrolle"

    Servus, Reinhard
