Just as a little closure for me and future historians: I got this working (on a M1 Pro)

    • QLC+ 4 Shows to QLC+ 5 Visualizer
      (any connection)
    • QLC+ 4 Shows to Pro DMX 2 (Studio DMX Visualizer)
sACN on localhost as unicast(!). Obviously my Vodafone Station can't handle multicast- which must both have been an oversight and a trap as well...

Will have to switch to my Windows machine shortly and try some more (also with DMX Control) and might update this answer right here.

Glad I made it- congratulations to myself.

... finally I don't have any reason to procrastinate programming our show any more! Or wait- the 3D stage needs a little brush up, still :/

    Hey there,

wanna revive this awesome thread a little, if you don't mind. I love your approach Shween!

I had reproduced everything like you proposed, but so far I've only got this setup to work twice within a timespan of several weeks and to this day it's not reproducable- is there a certain order it HAS to be run?

I was successfully ingesting ArtNet into Pro DMX 2 on the same machine (WIN 10, KM-Test Loopback Adapter) and controlling faders with my show data originating from DMXC 3.3.0.

But I just cannot get this to work reliably (or at all anymore). I think I am aware of the ports issues and everything, so now I'm thinking maybe while giving it "just a few more tries" I am always too fast switching between which app to start first (TX or RX) and don't give it enough time for the socket to being released?!

OR- is this the exact order it has to happen EACH AND EVERY TIME?!

    7. Open Pro DMX 2 -> Create a New Project AND SAVE AS! -> click Tools -> Options -> ArtNet -> Input -> Make Sure Network Adapter is set as your Virtual Loopback IP Address

It's sad that there's so little documentation for Pro DMX 2...

Not even sure if I've got to NOT check the network-adapter to bind to on the startup-dialog and then only later configure it via the settings dialog?

In the end I tried to switch to using sACN, but couldn't make that work either- probably didn't understand what that configuration needs.

@IlluminateXperience maybe you've got some insights here for me?

I've also tried setting all of this up between two machines (direct ethernet connection, 2.0.0.x addresses, 255.0.0.0 mask, Firewalls off)- ArtNetView shows that data is transceived (both directions work), but Pro DMX 2 does not get input.

Wanted to look into QLC+ 5 beta, since it was mentioned here as well- also not working.

Any suggestions what to check or how to debug? Any good reads?

    Your help is much appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Rob

Last but not least zur Titelgebenden Frage:

    Robert
