DMXControl 3 Tutorials

At the beginning of last year we have proclaimed the documentation offensive and with it actually ostensibly thought of the Wiki. But the whole time we were already planning, which contents should be in the explanation videos of DMXControl 3. In autumn we had efforts to finally start with the realization of the videos. The first recordings started at the beginning of September 2020. The in some places quite rocky way, until each of us has found a suitable production process, led to the fact that partly still in December videos for the Advent calendar were produced. The fact that some of us, despite Corona, did not have much more free time, also supported this problem. But in the end everything worked great and your resonance to the videos was amazing (which can also be seen in the statistics on YouTube). If you haven't seen the videos yet, you can find the corresponding playlists here: DMXControl 3 Tutorials Within this series, we have published both, short explanatory videos and long tutorials for your own practice (all only in German yet). The most recent of the explanatory videos we published last Friday in the Cuelist category. It is about cuelist groups. We have embedded this one for you again below:

New video formats

In addition, we have also tried out new things. For example, Arne and Jens-Peter started the new format "Live-Coding with Arne!". Here both of them picked a list of smaller tickets from our bugtracker, from which you could choose. Afterwards Arne implemented them live in the code of DMXControl 3.3. Thereby you had the possibility to influence the way of implementation in many ways. Furthermore you got a look behind the scenes of the development of DMXControl 3 and saw our developers at work. Since the feedback was extremely positive, this will certainly not have been the last "Live Coding with Arne!". Raffle for the big DMXControl survey

After we had our big DMXControl survey in November and you had participated very actively, there was one thing left to do: The raffle of the winners among the participants of the survey raffle. For this you could see in the livestream of Christian and Stefan an witty way to select the winner. As usual this video showed that we can not do things in a normal way If you want to watch this video again, here is the livestream of the raffle:

...and what's still to come

Even though a few videos have already been released as part of the Advent calendar, we're far from done. The release cycle for the remaining videos will be of course slower than for the calendar. But we will publish new videos in regular intervals. In order not to miss any videos from this and the other new formats in the future, just subscribe to our YouTube channel and activate the bell. Then you will always be up to date. In addition, we internally thought about creating a notification option for all those who do not (want to) have a YouTube account. Besides that we will change some things in our store in the next weeks. Especially some new products like a cup and a shower towel will be added. Here we are just preparing everything. As soon as they are ready, you will hear about it in the usual way. We are also planning to add t-shirts to the store again. The preparations for this are also underway. In addition, we have been planning to adapt the store design to our other websites for quite some time. In this course some innovations are also planned, which we will present to you in a separate news.

As you can see, the year 2021 will be exciting.
