Association News - 26_CW19 - Countdown for our annual meeting 2026
In a week, our annual meeting will begin (already) again. Somehow, time has flown by since our last meeting. This year’s annual meeting will be a special one. Not that there’s anything special to celebrate or that we have to hold major elections. What makes our meeting starting on May 14, 2026, special is the region and the story behind it - how we found this location - or did the location find us?
Some of you may remember our call for help in finding a suitable venue for our annual meetings. In response to that survey, Sebastian reached out and promptly invited us to his home. Fortunately, he is able to host us in a private setting, similar to our meetings at Christian’s place, and on top of that, he has a larger room where we can relax together during the day and pursue the program items - some planned, some not. The second unique aspect of this gathering will be the region where we’re meeting. After all, our annual meeting has never taken place as far east as it will in 2026: we’re heading to the area near Bautzen and Dresden. This pleases our participants from the Berlin and Magdeburg regions, who theoretically have a comparatively short drive. Participants from the Dortmund and Stuttgart regions, on the other hand, will have to spend more time on the train or in the car, crossing the country from (south)west to east on their way there and back.
In terms of content, however, there is nothing particularly extraordinary on the agenda. We will hold our annual general meeting as scheduled and otherwise spend most of our time working on and discussing a wide variety of topics in the working groups. The culinary aspect won’t be neglected either. We’ve already been told to expect something special. But what it is, I have no idea - only our host knows.
In any case, we're already looking forward to getting together.
