Coming up with a theme for an April Fools’ Day prank is always a challenge.
This year, we went with a new interface and software that promise absolute stability and security.
Anyone who took a closer look will have noticed, of course, that we’ve used something from the museum here: the Commodore C64. It was manufactured starting in 1982 and, with over 22 million units sold, was the best-selling computer of its time. But the museum part isn’t quite accurate, because since last year it has been rebuilt and sold as the C64 ULTIMATE. Featuring new technology in an old design.
And our club wouldn’t be our club if Stefan didn’t take on the challenge of making that a reality, at least to some extent. After all, he developed the version 2 of DMXControl back in the past. So perhaps there was a predecessor from the 1980s...?!
That’s why we can say: Yes, it works!

The proof video (completely without AI) is available on our YouTube channel as the DMXControl ULTIMATE Demo.
And even if the interface in the shop (Nodle R4S ULTIMATE) and the accompanying cartridge (DMXControl ULTIMATE Edition) may never be available for purchase, the software exists and is as the first ever DMXControl version open source on GitHub: https://github.com/DMXControl/DMXControl-C64 (Download under "Releases")
Let us know in the comments what you think and whether we should add a little more fun and leisure to this. But one thing is certain: it won’t be as extensive as versions 2 or 3. ![]()
Happy Easter
